2 Christmas Treat Ideas!

Hey everyone! Today will be my first wintery/christmas post on my blog. I love baking so I thought a treat idea would be most fitting! The two desserts I will be sharing with you are christmas shaped sugar cookies and snowman cupcakes. They are both super cute, easy and perfect for the winter holiday. I hope you enjoy these christmas-inspired desserts and let's get started!

Christmas Sugar Cookies
Yields=Depends on size of cookie cutter; (around 20)

Ingredients: (Cookies)

  • Sugar cookie mix or Homemade Recipe
  • Rolling Pin
  • Flour
  • Cookie cutters- I used a santa, reindeer, and gingerbread man

Ingredients: (Frosting)

  • 2 cups of Powdered Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • A dash of milk (until right consistency)
  • A dash of vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Prepare your cookie mix or homemade cookies following instructions carefully
  2. Flour your countertop and rolling pin and form your dough into a circle
  3. Take half of the dough and place the rest in the fridge-for now!
  4. Roll out dough until edges are evenly rolled out
  5. Cut out as many cookies that fit and place on a tray
  6. Clump together left over dough and repeat until there's not enough dough to cut out more cookies including the dough left in the fridge
  7. Cook in oven for about 8 minutes-they cook quick so keep a close eye
  8. Cool for around 15 minutes
  9. Decorate with frosting and any toppings and decorations desired

Snowman Cupcakes
    Yields= 24 per box

Ingredients:

Ingredients: (frosting)

Same as cookie recipe! Look above ;)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare cake mix or recipe as follows
  2. Line a cupcake pan and spray thoroughly
  3. Fill pan with batter and cook for about 12 minutes or until center comes out clean
  4. Cool for 15 minutes
  5. Take your orange/green sour gummy worms and chop them in half so only the orange remains. next, cut that piece in half once more and optionally again for a smaller nose
  6. Frost with white frosting and sprinkle top with white sprinkles (optional)
  7. Decorate your snowman! I placed 2 chocolate chips upside down for the mouth, 4 mini M&Ms for the mouth and a chopped off gummy worm
