Summer is my favorite time of the year because they are my only months that I have loads of time to try new things, hang out with friends, travel and enjoy summer! Without school in the mornings and activities taking up your evenings; you finally have some free time and this only comes once a year so make the most of it. That's why, today, I will be sharing with you some things / activities you can do in the summertime because let's face it, we all want to have an exciting, memorable summer to look back on.
1) Go to the pool! Taking a dip in a refreshing pool is perfect for hot, summer days and swimming is also a great form of exercise.
2) Beach! Who doesn't love laying out all day on the sand tanning? I mean the most rewarding part about going back to school is so everyone can compare their summer tans ;)
3) Decorate your room! I love redecorating my room because it keeps you busy and having a room you love is essential for summer nights or long days of Netflix watching in your bed.
4) Learn something new! Whether that be how to play an instrument, how to surf, learning another language, anything that interests you.
5) Shopping! Since I am literally a shopaholic, this is probably my favorite part about summer and is a lot of fun with friends.
6) Go to the movies! Movies are the perfect way to relax during summer and catch up on your favorite new summer films.
7) Spa day / Get a mani | pedi! You can create your own at-home spa day to reward yourself for all the hard work over the school year or stop by any nail salon and update your mani/pedi. (I have to say that is one of the things I love about being back in CA, the cheap and endless nail salons all over)
8) Workout! Summer is the best time for working out because you don't have to worry about being tired for your activities during the school year. It also allows you to try out new forms of exercise such as going for runs, hikes, cross-fit, swimming, dancing, or bodyweight exercises at home.
9) Go out for meals with friends! I love going out for lunch or dinner with friends because it's a perfect way to catch up and also try new restaurants and cuisines.
10) Try out some new recipes! Summer is a time for experimenting new foods so head on over to Pinterest and get cooking.
11) Organize your room and bathroom! With all the free time on your hands and the summer shopping, you can organize and sort through all your clothes as well as beauty products that you don't use anymore. Check out my post on cleaning HERE
12) Amusent parks! Visiting amusement parks is so much fun in the summertime with friends or family - especially if you love rollercoasters like me.
13) Festivals or concerts! Summer festivals are so much fun and since music is basically what makes up 50% of summer, why not attend a concert near you?
14) Road trip! Road tripping may sound more exciting and adventurous then it turns out happening but just taking a short trip to Santa Barbara, San Diego or even Santa Monica for the day would be really fun and make the most out of your day!
15) Take tons of Instagram-worthy photos! It's summer after all, people don't care if you post three things a day on Instagram so take tons of Tumblr or cute photos at the beach or wherever you decide to go.
16) Do a color run! I did a color run last year in Germany and it was a blast! The run is also pretty easy for those who are not so keen on running and it's such a cool experience.
17) Try out new hairstyles! Experiment with your hair this summer and be creative. Take a risk and try some pretty crazy and abnormal styles and see how others respond to them.
18) Catch up on a good read! Although reading may sound boring, if you find a great book it can be really entertaining and helps to keep you from being bored.
19) Travel! Even if you can't travel very far, visit some new places and cultures or explore your local surroundings.
20) Start a blog! I started my blog last summer and I couldn't be happier that I did. It fills your days and teaches you a new skill - blogging.
I hope you gained some inspiration and ideas for things you can do this summer to prevent any summer boredom! Stay tuned for another post sometime next week xxx

Beauty and Hair Products Haul! | Target
Hey everyone! As I began to start my new blog post I realized that my "Goodbye Switzerland" post that was meant to be up on my blog a week ago was still in draft form - oops! So, be sure to continue scrolling after this haul to see a reflection/summary of my time in Switzerland.
Anyways, I am officially back in Lala land and it feels so great to be home, although it takes some adjusting to after living in a European lifestyle/place for two years. We arrived last night so I'm currently battling that annoying thing called jet lag but luckily I get on the correct time pretty quickly.
We had only been back in the states for one night yet today early in the morning we were all in need of a huge Target shop to pick up essentials and some room decor. I grabbed a ton of new beauty and hair supplies that I'm really excited to try and thought I would share them with you. They were all purchased from Target and range from makeup to skin care to shampoos/conditioners. In addition, I will be filming a huge summer haul later this month showing you all the clothes and random items I got in London and now Los Angeles so look forward to that at the end of this month!
Makeup Products
I purchased several makeup products that are very basic and simple for the summertime and basically an all-year round, light look. I won't go into detail into each of the products since I think they are pretty self-explanatory but overall I got: a nude eyeshadow palette, under-eye powder, mascara, brow liner, and brow gel.
Hair Accessories / Products
I picked up this new hair straightener because it was labeled as a non-frizz straightener which is really important for me since I have naturally frizzy hair - especially in the summer when it gets hot and humid! Also, the straightener is infused with natural argan oil to protect your hair from the heat.
Skin Care
First, I have this daily moisturizing lotion which works so well in hydrating your skin and it's also very natural and unscented. This lotion is also great as an 'after sun' cream to lock in your tan and make your tan more lasting and prominent.
Shower Items
Thanks for reading this blog post and I hope some of you try out these products this summer and let me know if you do. Also, I just wanted to give you an overview of my blogging schedule for the summer. Basically, I am hoping to post two times a week, maybe more if I have a lot of time but this could vary from week to week since I just moved and this summer will be really busy and crazy as we begin adjusting back into our packed schedules. To give you an idea/sneak peek of some of my summer posts are: room/bathroom tours, clothing and beauty hauls, OOTW's, my swimsuit collection, what's in my beach bag, summer stretches, healthy food recipes and so much more! I can't wait for my posts this summer and I hope you all will follow along with Eat Sweat Style during the holidays. See you soon xxx

Next, I got the 'Not Your Mother's' hair care set. I have been wanting to try these for so long and I finally picked them up. They are all made with natural ingredients which is great for your hair and promotes healthy and longer hair.
The last hair care product that I bought was this frizz ease serum that you apply after washing your hair to aid in defraying your hair once it dries. As I mentioned above I have been struggling with frizzy hair so I'm hoping this will do the job!
Skin Care
First, I have this daily moisturizing lotion which works so well in hydrating your skin and it's also very natural and unscented. This lotion is also great as an 'after sun' cream to lock in your tan and make your tan more lasting and prominent.
Then, I got this facial mask in a bottle because I love face masks in the summer to clean and exfoliate my skin. It is in the 'flavor' of dead sea mud mask.
Lastly, I decided to buy oil absorbing sheets because I think they will be perfect for the beach to keep my skin feeling refreshed and oil-free!
Shower Items
I love this EOS shave cream which is why I got another one in the scent of vanilla bliss because it makes your legs so soft and provides a smoother and deeper shave.

Bodrum / Barbarossa Bay, Turkey
Hey everyone! School starts tomorrow which means today is my last day of spring break :( However, I feel very lucky because not only did we get two weeks off but I was able to go on another amazing trip! After Istanbul, we flew over to Bodrum, an island in Turkey that's absolutely stunning. We were staying at the Kempinski Resort in Barbarossa Bay with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea and the island all around. The resort itself had a private beach, infinity pool and was very Mediterranean-styled. It was also nearly empty since it's low season so was very relaxing and we basically had the entire hotel to ourselves. :p Since it was more of a 'getting tan' and relaxing trip we didn't have planned out days like in Istanbul, but my friend and I took literally a million photos so I'll post some of those down below; and also we visited one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World at the Mausoleum in the town center of Bodrum. Overall, Bodrum was such a cute town and was so unique, I would highly recommend visiting here if you're ever staying in Turkey (just a one hour flight from Istanbul).
