June Favorites!

Hey everyone! Today I am going to be writing and sharing some of my favorites this past month of June. These will be either fashion/beauty related or more general topics such as my favorite television show that I watched a lot in June!

So my first favorites I wanted to share with you for the topic of fashion are soft/silky shorts, and graphic tees. When it's hot out, for instance, or I go out swimming, putting on sticky, jean shorts does not sound very pleasing or comfortable to me. I think soft shorts are great because you can wear them at home as lounge shorts or you can dress them up while still staying cozy. Overall, soft shorts are an easy item to pair with just about anything for a warm day outside or a lazy day at home. Another favorite in fashion I've loved this month are graphic t-shirts. Again, a super simple piece but can be worn in so many different ways while still staying trendy and fun. I enjoy  graphic tees and have been purchasing them a lot this month because I feel like they make a statement and catch people's attention. They pair excellent with high-waisted shorts which has also been a growing trend these past few months. Both of these fashion favorites of mine are straightforward clothing items that can be worn several ways and are perfect for simple summer days!

Fitness! For fitness this month I have again 2 favorites. The first has been recent workout clothes that I purchased in Münich, Germany at Forever 21. All are really comfortable and perfect for working out because they are synthetic so block out sweat. These pieces shown below are also bright colors which I love for the summer and always make me want to workout more when I'm wearing exciting, vibrant clothing!

On the top row, you can see a matching sports bra and tight, "booty" shorts set, and another pair of shorts. These are great for runs or normal workouts at the gym or at home. The bottom row shows two shirts; first a coraly, pink tank-top that goes perfect with the upper right shorts. The tank is very lightweight and airy with 2 slits on the straps. The second shirt is also a great, lightweight material in a lively, energetic neon yellow with a cut-out in the back. I've really enjoyed these pieces for my weekly runs or doing Blogilates workouts at home!

Another fitness-related favorite of mine has been the Blogilates workout calendar. If you don't know, Blogilates is one of the most popular fitness channels on Youtube, and she also has her own blog... hence the name, "Blogilates". Every month on her blog she posts a workout calendar with the names of videos (from her Youtube Channel) for each day. It has been SO useful and the workouts are tremendously good leaving me sweaty and sore almost every day! Cassey is so happy and bubbly and encourages you to try your best every video. She helps make working out be enjoyable and pleasant even though some of her videos are crazy painful I know they are working. Attached is the June workout calendar... so be sure to check out her blog next month for the July workout calendar for I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed!

The next topic I want to share with you is beauty and hair products! I have had two favorites (once again ;) ) for both beauty and hair.

Beauty... I don't wear makeup, so these posts on beauty will be more related to skin care. So my favorites this month have been my Clarisonic and Clean & Clear Morning Burst facial cleanser & moisturizer! The Clarisonic is one of the best facial cleansing tools you can use because it gets into tough spots and cleans your pores so much better than just using your hands. It is timed so goes for the allotted time that you should be washing your face for. I've really enjoyed using the Clarisonic and it makes my face feel so much cleaner and refreshed! Then, my Morning Burst cleanser/moisturizer have paired perfectly with the Clarisonic. These 2 products wake me up in the morning and leave my skin feeling so smooth! The moisturizer is so fresh and light; it is also not oily so doesn't make your face feel heavy and creamy. I would recommend these skincare products for anyone that needs easy but productive products to clean your skin and prevent acne.

Next, for hair products I have been loving my tangle teezer (from Target) and 'Its a 10' shampoo and leave-in spray! The tangle teezer really does get out your tangles with much less effort which has been fantastic and is also small so is easy to travel with. The only downside to the tangle teezer is it can occasionally make your hair go a bit frizzy; however, this only happens if you brush your hair excessively. The 'Its a 10' products I got from my grandma who's a hairdresser and they are amazing! They do so much for your hair such as:
  1. repair dry, damaged hair

  2. adds shine

  3. detangles

  4. controls frizz

  5. seals & protects hair color

  6. prevents split ends

  7. stops hair breakage

  8. creates silkiness

  9. enhances natural body

  10. flat iron spray & thermal body protection

These 10 points are basically everything a girl needs with their hair AND it smells good ;)

My final favorites will be quick, random favorites that I had in the month of June. First, my favorite book this past month has been the Divergent Series! It's honestly the best book series I've read in a while and have enjoyed it so much this month! They put you at the edge of your seat and pull you in to the book making it hard to put down. I would recommend this series for anyone that likes an action-paced, well-written, romantic, exciting, book with many twists and turns!

Last but not least, my favorite TV series this month! Okay so I know I'm super behind with this one but I had always just brushed it by and never really considered it until some of my friends recommended it to me. It's Gossip Girl and I am obsessed. I don't watch TV very much but when I do you can always guarantee that Gossip Girl is on. I'm currently at the end of Season 3 and love this show because it's so crazy and something dramatic and interesting happens every episode! The only downside is that I know the ending but so much changes and happens throughout the season that that doesn't ruin much for me! What's been your favorite TV show in June?

Those were some of my favorites in June this month! I hope you take something away from this and try some of these products or read Divergent, etc!

DIY ~ Summer Booklet

Hey everyone! So this next post on my blog will be the first post in my Summer Series! It is called the Summer booklet. Inspiration from this creative summer idea came from pointlessblogs [from Youtube]. Basically this booklet is a little journal or book filled with 25 things you want to do over the summer. For every "thing" that you do you can either take a polaroid, write, paste in a picture or a magazine clipping onto that page to remember the moments. At the end of the summer you will hopefully have a completed book full with pictures and writing to reminisce on your summer.

How to make:
1. Purchase a mini or regular-sized journal/book

2. Make a list of 25 things you want to do this summer; this can be super simple things such as climb a tree or more open things like trying something new

    3. Write out each of the 25 things on a separate page in your book so that each "thing" you complete will have a page with pictures or writing describing the task

4. Start to fill out your summer booklet & have a fun-filled, never dull Summer 2014 that you will never forget!

5. HAVE FUN and don't be afraid to put crazy things on your list because it's summer after all ;)

Overall, I think this is a great way to ensure a summer that you won't regret! I've been obsessed with polaroids so I love the idea of taking different polaroids and sticking them into a little summer diary. It also helps when you go through those long summer days with no plans, you can just think of your 25 things you want to do instead of wasting each day of summer bored and curious as to what you should do! I hope some of you try out this Summer booklet and that helps you have an amazing, un-forgettable 2014 summer! :)

Update / Travels!

Hey everyone! So I just wanted to share with you a recent travel destination that I went to this past weekend. This place was Edinburgh Scotland where my family and I visited for a birthday celebration/family reunion. I was not expecting how beautiful Scotland would be! The city in Edinburgh was so cute and quaint and all the buildings were really beautiful covered in brick. We were staying in a town outside of Edinburgh called Gullen which was really small and pretty. Over the course of our stay we visited some huge, majestic castles and also went to a sea side town to walk near the ocean and sea breeze. Overall, I really enjoyed this weekend in Scotland and would recommend visiting here for a long weekend for anyone that enjoys grand, imperial towns!
